Today we are ending our first week of marketplace beta with lazy minting, auctions already working and also a couple of technical problems. But I don’t wanna finish it without speaking about the 11 and maybe more genesis NFTs that have been minted in our platform and their authors.

Since we first started with the idea of Aura we believed that NFTs could empower all types of artists, digital or physical. Our objective was giving as many artists as we could the tools to approach this new “medium” and to take their work to the NFT market.

A single wish by Sentient Software — 2021 — AI — 1/1

This week we were really surprised with the works of this artists and in some cases how the experimentation took them through roads they never traveled before. Many of them started to prepare months ago for this moment, so I thought I should honor their work and write about them.

Now to continue, let’s see those 12 genesis NFTs that were minted in our beta marketplace:

A single wish is digital artist sentientsoftware first NFT ever. In this composition a “crystal genitalia” is pictured in the middle, three mouths fighting for the prize; “AI generated images converge into an ethereal scene, depicting what is lust, desire and fantasy through the eyes of a machine”.

Bye bye bathtub by Mar Nadler — 2020 — Photography — 1/1

Bye bye bathtub is argentinean photographer Mar Nadler NFT genesis, a exclusive 1/1 with a fantastic sense of composition. Never before she sold her photography like this. Mar told us “My interest in Photography arose through cinema, and the desire to portray bodies was also given through painting. Photography is a state of mind for me. I enjoy when I do it in a totally intuitive way, when I get the emotions to pop out through the image.
My desire is to portray bodies as entities, desexualized beings. So I began to discover shapes, to play with different elements. For me it is essential to mix, in the same creation, sculpture, photography and a more surrealistic perspective. My influences are Ren Hang, Mapplethorpe and Man Ray”

operadorobreture by Arpanet — 2020 — AI Animation — 1/1
Sphere Pro 3 by Eduardo Pla — 2012 — Digital Painting — 1/1

Arpanet also minted his first NFT ever. Operadorobreture is an animation made with artifical intelligence where the spectator can lose himself in the abyss. Theres something about this work, it creates an illusion to the human eye. It mutates and you never get to grasp what’s there. The animation last for around 3 minutes and it’s a demonstration of why Arpanet is one of the best when it comes to cooperating with AI.

Válvula by EncoDesgem — 2021 — 3D Render — 1/1
Andromeda by Mel Calabria — 2021 — Digital Painting — 1/1

Digital grandmaster Eduardo Pla (1962–2012) also debuted in the NFT market with Sphere Pro 3 thanks to his familys hard work. The promote his legacy and for the first time a Eduardo’s work is on sale with its pure digital essence. Funny to remember that when he was alive people asked him to paint on acrylic these digital works. If he could have seen the future…

Mente arcaica by Yanhiga — 2021 — Mixed media & animation — 1/1

Now what can I say about brazilian artist Enco Desgem? Enco is a gem in the middle of a desert and Válvula (his first NFT) was sold in a matter of hours. Enco’s work is original and unique in its essence, transhumanism flows through his 3D renders where digital sculpture and painting blend in post-surrealistic compositions.

The description of Válvula goes like this: “The expansion of my internal landscape reveals its materialistic form. I spread the entrails oscillated between everythingness and nothingness. Rays of reality suppressed in silhouettes that fulfill the sublime journey to the dimension of matter.
Válvula is the agent of genesis at the intersection of worlds.”

Andromeda by Mel Calabria is her first digital painting ever. Mel studied with grandmaster Odd Nedrum at Norway, and his influence is clearly visible in her technique.

As a traditional physical painter is interesting to see her approach this new enviroment and how she dives deep into the virtual world with the help of a Wacom.

Other genesis NFT worth mentioning is Mente Arcaica by Yanhiga, a transdisciplinary brazilian artist who experiments with photography, collage, animation and sound. “Mente Arcaica is a long term visual experiment, in which I’ve been resampling my own work with delicacy since 2019. It went from digital collage to digital painting until it became Motion Photo Art, scored with unreleased music from my debuting Yvu project.” the artist said.

Impermanência by Aun Helden — 2021- Mixed Media — 1/1

Aun Helden, star from underground art scene of São Paulo is making her debut on Aura this week. Presenting us a visceral and gory work. Impermanência mixes performance, photography and prostethics to deliver a beautiful but gruesome world. Decay or rottenness? Transformation is the natural course of humans and Aun dives deep into it to show us that theres beauty in the dark. Impermanência reminds us of our fragility in each of it’s details.

Well… there’s no doubt that our first beta week had a lot of experimentation and we look forward with excitement to more artist and artworks that will be coming to the marketplace next week. We still have a lot of things to fix and a lot of updates to come.

Our official launch is scheduled for the 27th of September with secondary marketplace already working and Eduardo Pla exhibition drop. See you next week.

Stay tuned!
